State Department of Transportation officials announced today that a section of Pali Highway where a landslide occurred on Feb. 28 will be shut down this weekend as crews work on the hillside.

The Pali Highway was closed in the Kailua-bound direction from Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday so that state Department of Transportation crews could trim trees and remove boulders in those lanes.

The work is in response to recent rock slides on the Pali, and the DOT encourages motorists to use the Likelike Highway or H-3 freeway as alternate routes.

Road work is weather permitting.
