Hawaii beats UAB 3-2 in 11 innings

Juliene Jones’ sacrifice fly scored Jordan Richartz in the bottom of the 11th inning to give Hawaii a 3-2 win over Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Hawaii took a 2-1 series lead, improving to 11-12 overall. The Blazers dropped to 17-7.

Freshman Quintin Torres-Costa picked up his second win in as many outings, striking out four in three hitless innings.

Hawaii starter Jarrett Arakawa went over 100 pitches for the first time this season, lasting a  season-high eight innings. He allowed one earned run on five hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

The finale of the four-game series takes place Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
