QB Higgins shows accuracy in spring training
Another University of Hawaii football practice, another strong outing for quarterback Jeremy Higgins.
Higgins led the Rainbow Warriors to a touchdown in the two-minute offense, the final drill of this morning’s fifth practice of spring training.
Higgins was 7-of-8 for 60 yards, with five of the completions to wideout Keith Kirkwood, including a 14-yard scoring lob to the left corner of the end zone.
Higgins, a fifth-year senior, is competing against Ikaika Woolsey and Taylor Graham for the starting quarterback’s job. Woolsey has taken most of the reps with the first team, although UH head coach Norm Chow said a decision on the starter won’t be made until after spring training.
Beau Yap, who practiced at outside linebacker this spring, moved back to defensive end, a position he played previously for the Warriors.
The Warriors do not practice on Wednesday. The next practice is Thursday, beginning at 7 a.m.
