Prosecutors charged a 44-year-old Waiahole man Friday with second-degree attempted murder of a 33-year-old man in December.

Peter Picanco Sr. was arrested Thursday. He was later charged with second-degree attempted murder, possession of a prohibited shotgun, felon in possession of a prohibited weapon and use of a firearm in the commission of a separate offense. Bail was set at $250,000.

Police said the 33-year-old man arrived at a hospital with serious bodily injuries at 1:45 a.m. Dec. 20.

Police said the crime occurred in Kaneohe.
