Brush fire scorches 100 acres in Wahiawa

It took firefighters an hour to extinguish a rubbish fire  that grew into a brush fire in windy conditions early Tuesday morning near  Wahiawa’s Karsten Thot Bridge.

The rubbish fire was reported around 3 a.m.

By the time the blaze was extinguished it had grown into a blaze that scorched 100 square yards.

No property damage or injuries were reported.
