Hawaii wins 11th straight in women’s basketball

Senior guard Shawna-Lei Kuehu scored 12 points, including two critical free throws with 30 seconds left, as Hawaii held off UC Davis for its 11th straight, a hard-fought 62-60 win Saturday evening at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Senior guard Ashleigh Karaitiana and freshman center Megan Huff each had 11 points for the Big West-leading Rainbow Wahine (19-7, 11-2). Kuehu added 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season as Hawaii won the board war, 46-31 in front of a season-high crowd of 1,989.

Senior forward Sydnee Fipps led the Aggies (13-11, 8-4) with 20 points. It was her ninth game of 20 or more points this season and a school-record 32nd.
