Security drill will close some Pearl Harbor gates
The military is closing gates to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Thursday afternoon because of a security drill.
The Halawa, Makalapa, Nimitz, O’Malley and Kuntz will closed intermittently beginning at 1:30 p.m. during the drill. Gate closures will last about 15 minutes.
The Ford Island and Borchers gates will remain open.
As part of the drill, Navy officials will be testing its loud speaker notification system.
The drill won’t affect the Ford Island and Makalapa compounds. Base annexes at West Loch, Lualualei and Wahiawa will also be unaffected.
