An H-1 freeway traffic camera shows several vehicles involved in an accident near the Waimalu offramp Thursday morning.
A multi-vehicle accident on the H-1 freeway near the Waimalu exit caused a huge traffic jam Thursday morning in both directions.
The accident was reported at about 6:30 a.m. in the ewa-bound lanes. But traffic also backed up in the town-bound lanes as onlookers slowed to see what was happening.
Traffic also backed up on Kamehameha Highway as drivers tried to find alternate routes around the accident.
Traffic cameras showed ewa-bound lanes of the freeway backed up near Aloha Stadium and drivers standing on the freeway outside of their cars at the accident scene.
There were no immediate reports of serious injuries.
