‘Iolani School has announced Maurice P. Maggiolino as its new athletic director, effective July 1.

He replaces Carl Schroers who is retiring after 37 years.

Maggiolino is currently an associate AD at Kamehameha Schools.

Before joining the Kapalama campus, Maggiolino was at Chaminade University, where he was the sports information director. He also served as men’s golf coach an assistant men’s basketball coach.

The school said  the selection of Maggiolino came after a process that drew 82 applicants from Hawaii and the mainland.
