Kapolei’s Louis Smolka has been added to the UFC 189 pay-per-view card on July 11 in a flyweight bout against Irishman Neil Seery, the UFC has confirmed.

Smolka will fight a day before fellow Hawaii Elite MMA training partner Russell Doane faces Jerrod Sanders at the TUF Finale 21 event in the same MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Smolka (8-1, 2-1 UFC) is coming off a third-round finish of Richie Vaculik last November in a fight he took on 11 days notice.

His only UFC loss was by a split decision.

Seery (15-10) has won two consecutive UFC fight since losing his debut to Brad Pickett last May. He has gone the distance all three times.
