Punahou Street lanes reopen after crews clear large tree

    Pieces of a large banyan tree were cleared from Punahou Street this morning.

Police reopened the makai-bound lanes of Punahou Street below Dole Street this morning, which had been partly closed while city crews removed branches of a banyan tree that fell just before midnight.

No one was hurt.

Police closed the makai-bound lanes on Punahou Street around the work site. However, they were reopened at around 7 a.m.
