Single tickets for the hit musical “The Book of Mormon” go on sale on Dec. 5 for its April run at Blaisdell Concert Hall.
Written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone of “South Park” and Robert Lopez of “Avenue Q,” “The Book of Mormon” follows the misadventures of two young Mormon missionaries who go on mission to Uganda. Its witty songs and satirical take on Mormonism reportedly left audience members “sore from laughing so hard,” said the New York Post.
The musical was named Best Musical in 2011, and received awards for score, book, direction, actress, scenic design, lighting design, sound design and orchestrations. Both the New York Drama Critics Circle Award and the Drama Desk named it Best Musical and gave it several other awards.
Tickets starting at $37-$95 (VIP packages up to $190) go on sale at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Blaisdell box office or through ticketmaster.com, 866-448-7849. Performances begin April 13 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
