A pedestrian was in critical condition late this afternoon after being hit by a vehicle on Farrington Highway in Waianae at about 2 p.m., according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

Initially, paramedics reported that the 84-year-old man was in serious condition after being hit by a vehicle on Farrington Highway in Waianae. He transported to a hospital by emergency medical personnel. The EMS report was updated at about 5:15 p.m.

Police closed the Makaha-bound lanes of Farrington Highway in front of Tamura’s for about two hours following the accident. The lanes reopened by 4:15 p.m.
