Palolo man driving a stolen moped arrested for drug possession

A 21-year-old man who was driving a stolen moped was pulled over for an alleged traffic violation on Kapiolani Boulevard early Saturday and now faces felony drug charges, police said.

The Palolo man was arrested at 2:47 a.m. near the intersection of Kapiolani Boulevard and Atkinson Street after a police sergeant saw a traffic violation. Police checks on the moped showed itwas stolen and the officer also found drug paraphernalia.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, promotion of a dangerous drug in the third degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without avalid license.

He was held in custody pending investigation.
