Aloha Stadium deputy manager resigns to take UH post
Lois Manin has resigned as deputy manager of Aloha Stadium to become director of football operations at the University of Hawaii.
UH said she will assist head coach Nick Rolovich “in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the football program.”
It said Manin will be “only the fourth female director of football operations in the (126-member) Football Bowl Subdivision.”
Manin, who spent the past eight and a half years as deputy to Aloha Stadium Manager Scott Chan, returns to UH, where she spent 17 years, 12 of them as sports information director.
Aloha Stadium Authority said it is beginning the search for a replacement.
Meanwhile, former UH baseball star Kenny Harrison has been named as the advertising agent for Aloha Stadium.

Those moves is called “Ohana” in Guberment.
From one dysfunctional State job to another.
Why is this worthy of a news article? Slow news day?
I’m a State worker, may I have the job?
No, you watch HULA too much.
Hulu. Not hula.
The DFO is incredibly important. Does the travel, communications, etc. Lois is organized and as all the media will tell you did a great job as SID. Was instrumental in getting some Aloha into Aloha Stadium where she gained administrative experience. Great hire. She will make Rolo’s life a lot easier.
Yeah get me a flight and a hotel room. It’s incredibly important stuff. Just incredibly incredibly so incredibly important. You can cure cancer or you can get me a flight and a hotel room. Incredibly important.
What ever happened to El Sid
People will grumble no matter who they hire.
From a deputy position to an assistant position – a real high-impact move of great newsworthiness. SA article doesn’t say how much those two publicly funded state jobs pay, or what it is she actually does. The successor probably will be an acting deputy for now to keep it open until after the 2016 election so a politician who loses their re-election bid can be slid in. The way things work, the selection certainly won’t be based on ability to do the job.
Geez….did everyone wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?? SO MUCH negativity…and LOL on complaining about why it is was even a news story but worthy enough to make a post about. Take a deep breath everyone.
Right on, SuperBob!
Guess only the “ANTI-UH” people are reading this … I think it’s a great hire and the DFO has to be a very organized person … has to take a lot of the load off “Rolo” so he can concentrate on being the HC. Wish Lois, “Rolo” and the rest of the team the best of luck.
Good Luck Lois!
FOR UH FANS ONLY … not the “negative” ones … Read where the Asst S & C Coach @ Nevada may be our new S & C guy. Also read where former UH DC Rich Ellerson is now the DC @ Jacksonville…good luck to Coach Ellerson.
Is this a newly created position?
good luck Lois, hope you can still do the OC16 broadcasts. you and Rory are hilarious together
