Waves wash woman off Mokulua Island
Off-duty lifeguards rescued a woman who was washed onto a rocky edge by a wave today at the Mokulua Islands.
A spokeswoman for the Ocean Safety Division said the 28-year-old visitor climbed to the backside of a Mokulua Island with a friend when a wave hit her. Waves continued to pound her and she was unable to get to a safe area.
Off-duty lifeguards and a bystander helped the woman to shore.
A lifeguard on a rescue watercraft put the woman on a sled behind the watercraft and brought her to safety.
Paramedics met them at the Kailua boat ramp and treated the woman for abrasions and lacerations. An ambulance took her to the hospital in stable condition.

One very lucky young woman.
Very lucky to have experienced watermen around
A professional! The person who aided the woman was an off-duty lifeguard. Who could be more qualified?
Complimentary Norplant is in order.
Why is this news? Waves wash tourists off the sea walls in Waikiki every day yet it’s not reported. Let me see, ocean = waves. Newsworthy? Nope!
But look at the view!
Just another lolo !!!!
