Hawaiian Airlines passenger traffic up 4.3% in January

Hawaiian Airlines’ passenger traffic rose 4.3 percent in January as it carried more seats than the year-earlier period.

The state’s largest carrier said today it transported 884,990 people compared with 848,567 in January 2015. Its load factor, or the percentage of seats filled, increased 2.9 percentage points to 81.1 percent from 78.2 percent.

Revenue passenger miles, or one paying passenger transported one mile, rose 5.2 percent to 1.22 million from 1.16 million. Available seat miles, or one seat transported one mile, increased 1.5 percent to 1.5 million from 1.48 million.
