Police arrest ex-con after report of gunshots in Salt Lake
A 26-year-old Salt Lake man was taken into custody following reports of gunshots early Wednesday morning.
The suspect was arrested after a brief police chase in the Salt Lake area after a witness reported seeing a person firing a weapon around 5:40 a.m.
The suspect, along with two women and and another man, were reported driving away from the scene.
The suspect was caught at his Salt Lake Boulevard home an hour later and arrested on suspicion of reckless endangering, being a felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree criminal property damage and a drug offense.

He’ll be released on his own recognizance by 8:30 am if he can be processed quickly enough to catch the shuttle from the cell block to the courthouse this morning.
