A woman in her early 20s was in critical condition and a man was hurt today after a head-on collision on Kaukonahua Road in Wahiawa.

The crash occurred near the S-turn on Kaukonahua Road about 1 p.m., police said.

Paramedics treated the woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, and took her to a hospital in critical condition, an Emergency Medical Services report said.

A 35-year-old man driving the oncoming car was wearing a seat belt and his airbag deployed. He was taken by federal firefighters to a hospital in serious condition, the report said.
