A body surfer rode a wave at Point Panic on Wednesday afternoon.

A high surf advisory is in effect for the south shores of all islands until Sunday morning, the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters say a long period south swell generating surf from 5 to 8 feet tall will peak today and slowly subside through early next week.

The advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday.
