3 stolen Hot Pockets land 2 Ewa Beach people in jail
Three stolen Hot Pockets worth $9.40 landed two Ewa Beach people in jail last week.
Paul Wilhelm, 22, was charged with third-degree assault, and Rachele Wilhelm, 43, was charged with fourth-degree theft after a security officer was allegedly punched in the face over the food items.
Rachele Wilhelm put three Hot Pockets in a brown purse and tried to walk out of the Dillingham Boulevard Foodland on May 3, but was stopped by a security officer, a police affidavit filed in District Court said.
She signaled to Paul Wilhelm, who was in the parking lot, and he walked up and punched the security officer in the face, the document said. The two ran.
The security officer spotted the two again on May 18, this time at the Foodland in Ewa Beach, and called police, leading to the pair’s arrest.
After being charged, the two posted bail: $1,000 for Rachele Wilhelm and $200 for Paul Wilhelm. Police did not disclose their relationship.

The woman stole 3 Hot Pockets and got $1000 bail, while the guy assaulted the security officer and only received $200 bail? What am I missing here?
The Hawaii injustice system.
Missing pieces of sanity?
Those amounts must have been reversed.
The judge likes Hot Pockets?
LOL
The bigger crime is that a hot pocket costs over $3.
As I stated before, nothins good in Ewa.
But the incident happened at the Dillingham Foodland. You must be one dumb Portagee who apparently cannot read to boot.
“LOL”
LMAO
No laugh, that’s the kind Trump is banking on for votes.
That is some mighty expensive hot pockets. Reminds me of man who stole a loaf of bread. I am not saying it’s OK but people commit terrible crimes here over and over and get a slap on the wrist comparatively speaking.
Here is prime example of how crime is encouraged by an adult. What chance has a child have if their elders are not setting the example of good membership in one’s community?
What a Crime!!!!
3 bucks for a Hot Pocket???? Talk about robbery.
Wished the SA had pictures of these two losers!!
How many people must die for a punch in the face to become attempted murder? Seems like the politicians, prosecutors and cops don’t take the punch in the face too seriously. What a shame…
Until they get punched in the face, then it’s a felony.
They are lovers…mom and son team! Lock them up or take them out of society. Pilau…bunch…PIGS!!!!
Good lap dogs always eat the FRUIT! Hahahah!
Tell the Wilhelm family to stop trading their EBT welfare food cards for cash to buy cigarettes, weed and ice and then they would’nt need to steal Hot-pockets from Foodland
Someone needs to give Lap Dog a “Hot-Pocket” Punk!
Lock them up forever because they will commit other crimes. It is in their DNA. Safety of the community should be priority over these characters
Security guards earn their money.
Now , here we have a case of petty theft and assault. What do we do with these people? WE are concerned about our prisons being over crowded and early release. Do we just give them a slap on the wrist and return them to society? There got to be balance, where is it?
HOT POCKETS … YUK !!!!!
WAIT! So, he assaulted the security guard and bail is only $200??? And, she steals 2 Hot Pockets and bail is $1,000. More proof that our Judicial system is out of whack.
Paul Wilhelm, Rachele Wilhelm…. mainlanders ?
Look for them living on the beach or in Kakaako in a tent?
Banish them to Kahoolawe Island?
Was she gonna trade the Hot Pockets for drugs/smokes/booze?
So they were charged but never went to jail cause they posted bail……am I missing something or is the headlines wrong?
Frankly, in my opinion, hot pockets have no value. They are terrible. This is the classic case of “Is it a crime to take a small quantity of food if you are hungry and can’t pay for it?” Assault is another matter. An interesting fact, peasants often rioted over their inability to have bread, ultimately leading to the French Revolution
Assume it’s mother and son thieves with same last name and age difference. This proves stupid breeds more stupid. If they had to steal $9 worth of hot pockets, how did they/convinced someone to post bail ?
What a couple of morons.
Did they use a Makai card?
