The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 64-year-old man who drowned Sunday while swimming in the area fronting the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Waikiki as Chisato Higashio of Tokyo.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said the victim drowned.

He was pulled from the water at 9:35 a.m. and taken to the hospital where he died.
