Autopsy to be conducted on man who died after he was pulled from water in Maili
An autopsy will be conducted Friday to determine the cause of death of a 71-year-old visitor from California who was pulled from the ocean in Maili Thursdayafternoon.
The medical examiner’s office has identified the victim as John Van Noord, 71, of San Francisco.
The victim was snorkeling when bystanders rescued him when he became unresponsive, police said.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he died.
Police classified the case as an unattended death pending the results of the autopsy.
