Suspect in theft of generator on Big Isle seen on surveillance video
Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in identifying anyone involved in a burglary at the Hawaii County facility in Hilo, where a generator was taken in May.
The break-in occurred early on the morning of May 18 on Railroad Avenue. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect and a suspect vehicle.
Police ask anyone with information about this incident, the person or vehicle shown, or persons in possession of the stolen generator to call Officer Jacob Obermiller at 961-2213 or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.

Why are surveillance picture always so grainy?
Why only now does the police department release the video when this happened back in May…..even if they apprehend the suspect he had enough time to dispose of the stolen items and he may have committed more burglaries as well..the sooner they inform the public the chances are greater that they will catch this person sooner than later before he commits other crimes…..
Probably the Police Dept. has exhausted all it’s resources trying to solve this crime from just a blurry picture and is now appealing to the public, hoping someone will recognize the Cretin in the picture.
