Firefighters investigate cause of Aiea house fire

Fire investigators are assessing the damage to a house fire that burned one home and several neighboring structures and vehicles in Aiea this morning.

The fire was reported at 7:19 a.m. in the 99-000 block of Moanalua Road. The stretch of Moanalua Road between Nalopaka and Heleconia places was closed shortly before 8 a.m. due to the fire, police said.

Eight people were home when the blaze broke out in the two-story structure, but escaped injury.

One man was treated at scene by paramedics.

The fire was brought under control by 7:44 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
