2 suspects still at large after Kahala robbery
Honolulu police are looking for two suspects in the robbery of a man in Kahala Friday afternoon.
Police said the incident happened on Koloa Street at about 5:28 p.m.
One man displayed a dangerous instrument and demanded money from a 47-year-old man, while a second suspect acted as a lookout, police said.
The suspects fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash, police said.
Police did not release a description of the suspects.

Bet you a vanilla ice cream cone they are not Caucasian. Some poster mentioned this and I kind of agree, HPD releases race of a felony suspect only if they are described as being Caucasian. Call it the Deedy effect.

Kahala, Hawaii Kai, Kailua. The usual kind are now all over the island. No need for descriptions.
Posting this without a description is irresponsible and just plain garbage. Shame on me for paying for such trashy reporting.
If you can even call it reporting. Today’s “reporters” have a very much different work ethic than yesterdays. And it’s not a better one.
It’s worth reporting because a robbery occurred. It’s not the SA’s fault that HPD didn’t release descriptions of the suspects. If SA had that description then maybe they could do HPD’s job for them. What are they supposed to do, make up a description out of whole cloth?
Real reporters go out and work and get more of the story. SA doesn’t even pay people anymore to go out and take fresh pictures to accompany their lacking articles. They use file photos. Pfft.
criminals have no respect for law enforcement and the judicial system–need to change and enforce the laws–sadly more crime will need to occur before any meaningful change occurs– wait till a judge or public official gets ripped off or kids or family involved in crime or maybe something worse—only them will this type of offenses will be seriously looked at and criminals really prosecuted. no worry–more is coming if there is no deterrence–you just have to lucky enough not to get hit–or maybe better protect yourself and get a few weapons–your choice—society needs to rid itself of trash in society
Checked online maps, Koloa St is in the heart of Waialae Kahala, one of the most desirable places to live on Oahu, and normally should be an extremely safe neighborhood, especially at 5:30pm which is broad daylight. For people who live there, they mention the nearby private Hanukai park attracts a lot of outsiders who hang out at that park, including outside dog owners who it as dog dumping grounds, including late at night, and lurk in the dark in their cars along the perimeter of the park. There are no condos, apartments or transistional housing in the area and all the homes on Koloa and the neighboring streets, even the older homes, are easily in the $2 million plus range. Some of the residents who live in the area like to advertise their wealth by driving and displaying their top of the line $100K plus Porsches, Mercedes, BMWs, etc in their driveway and pretty sure these robbers notice this as well.
