UH plays to draw with Long Beach State
After 110 hard-fought minutes, Hawaii settled for a draw with Long Beach State in a critical Big West Conference game tonight at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
UH moved to 9-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Big West with the double-overtime decision. Both teams picked up a point toward qualification for the conference tournament.
After a sluggish start, the Rainbow Wahine had several opportunities in the second half and late in the extra periods. They finished with an 18-11 advantage in shots.
It was the seventh shutout of the season for senior goalkeeper Monk Berger, tying the program record she set as a freshman.
