WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange participated, on Oct. 4, via video link at a news conference marking the 10th anniversary of the secrecy-spilling group in Berlin.

PARIS » WikiLeaks says that founder Julian Assange’s internet access has been cut by an unidentified state actor. Few other details were immediately available.

Assange has been up holed up at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London for more than four years after skipping bail to avoid being extradited over sex crimes allegations.

The cramped quarters haven’t prevented the Australian transparency activist from working and WikiLeaks continues to deliver scoops, including revelations that have rattled Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president as the U.S. election enters its final stretch.

Calls, texts and emails left with WikiLeaks weren’t immediately returned today. A woman who picked up the phone at the embassy said: “I cannot disclose any information.”

Ecuador’s Foreign Minister Guillaume Long, approached by The Associated Press on the sidelines of a United Nations conference in Quito, declined to comment when asked about Assange.

London’s Metropolitan Police also declined comment.

Associated Press Writer Gonzalo Solano contributed reporting from Quito, Ecuador.

    “State Actor” – United States?

    • OldDiver says:

The United States interfering with Wikileaks’s Julian Assange and Russia’s Vladimir Putin efforts to interfere with U.S. Elections by trying to elect Donald Trump is a high probability.

      • pilot16 says:

Really? Assange and Putin are two different people in two different parts of the world. Its one or the other. Amazing how effective the Clinton Crime Family is. Isn’t it funny how the media is now referencing the Wikileaks dumps each day as the “alleged” emails? As if trying to take the validity away from the substance of all the embarrassing revelations? But that isn’t enough. Clinton’s long arm of ‘her’ law can reach all the way to London to have some flunky cut the internet cable outside the embassy in London. That isn’t hard. And with all the millions she hasten her “charitable foundation”, buying off some punk would be peanuts for her. Those who pontificate that Russia is trying to impact our election are in a desperate attempt to distract Americans from the truth, from reality. That is, that the main stream media is in the tank for helping the liberal democrat party and doing all that is possible to get Hillary Clinton elected. How pathetic. Even if she wins, what kind of victory is that??? But the extent to which the Clintons and the MSM will cheat is a good indication they are very worried about the outcome. Clinton is about to be pounced. It’s precisely why she & the MSM are cheating. That says volumes about her and her supporters.

And the sex charges are phony trumped up? Oh yeah. This guy is a role model. How does a one exist on no $$$ for 4 years? What wikileaks does is no better than a government wiretapping your life.

        • bumbai says:

Ever notice that if the powers that be want to shut you up they slap you with “sex crime” accusations.

      • Kalaheo1 says:

I don’t think Julian Assange has reason to care who the US President is.

Why do you think he cares?

        • Rite80 says:

Assange has a long standing feud with Hillary Clinton. Government intelligence officials believe he is working with the Russian government to elect Donald Trump.

        • bumbai says:

          …a “vast Russian conspiracy?”

      • bumbai says:

OldDiver: It’s actually the U.S. Government interfering with WikiLeak’s interfering with Hillary’s interfering with a great number of things.

  2. tutulois says:

I don’t care who did it– just glad that someone did. This guy is such an arrogant narcissist with way too much power and no accountability.

  3. yhls says:

Interesting development to say the least. There are some very powerful people in America who’ll do whatever they have to do to ensure Hilllary wins. Let’s see what happens next.

  4. stanislous says:

What is a “state actor”? An example please.

  5. BigIdeas4U says:

Very interesting timing of this action. Someone is hiding from something. We would make further comment, but afraid that THEY may disconnect us from the internet.

  6. Cellodad says:

In Ecuador (unlike some European nations) internet access is not a civil right. Perhaps he can send postcards. Better yet, maybe he could return to Sweden and address the sex assault charges he says are false. Sweden is known for having a pretty fair judicial system.

  7. sluggah says:

It’s interesting that the truth of the emails isn’t questioned, just the source. Also interesting that the major media generally ignores it. The Pentagon Paper case was major news in the 60’s despite the fact that Daniel Ellsberg stole the material. I sense a double standard being applied.

    • bumbai says:

In case you didn’t notice, CNN;s Chris Cuomo announced yesterday that it illegal to read or possess WikiLeaks disclosed emails. He implied that only the press should have access and will tell the American public what they need to know. Welcome to the Soviet Union, Comrade.

  8. Hodad says:

All you conspiracy theorists: Did you know that Katy Perry was really Jon Benet Ramsey?

    • hawaiikone says:

A Liberty Memes observation: “It’s funny how Julian Assange was a hero to the left when he was leaking secrets about the Bush wars, but now that he’s releasing the truth about Hillary’s corruption he’s being controlled by Putin and Trump.”

A pertinent response: “If it weren’t for double standards, the liberals would have no standards at all.”

  9. Allaha says:

Two lose women who only knew him a day or two had sex with him . After they got together and learned that he had it with both they got mad and claimed: “that what started as consensual sex became non-consensual.” It is a crime of the prosecutor against all men to take such allegations even to court. It sure looks like they were out to destroy him.

  10. bleedgreen says:

Julian Assange is 45 years old, but he looks a lot older in the picture above.

  11. wrightj says:

…and white hair is seen among the godly.

Wiki wiki boy has been slowed down. Not so quick anymore. Hawaiian word hits the bigtime. Now lets teach the world about aloha Friday and pau. The two best Hawaiian words are aloha and mahalo. Oh, kokua is a good word as is ohana. Thinking about it pono is right at the top of the list. Every time I see the word “wiki” as in Wikipedia…I laugh to myself and think…. how two consonants and one vowel (used twice) can say so much.

Think wiki, live aloha, always be pono, love you ohana, and show mahalo to those that help. Okay, I am all pau.

  13. mctruck says:

While Bill Clinton was still President, he held a White House Prayer, attended by over 100 ministers, priests and religious leaders in the East Room; in their presence he openly confessed to his sins and asked for their forgiveness. (House Prayer, September 11, 1998).
Franklin Graham son of Billy Graham explained that Donald Trump appologised to his wife and America for his past ways and so people should move on. Graham pointed out that he pointed out to his followers the need to consider who the Supreme Court appointment will be?, that should govern who they should vote for.
He used the term, “hold your nose and vote.”
So, the question then is how does this religious, “forgiveness” supposed to work for Trump, but not for Bill Clinton?, sort-of-two-faced religious right or left if you tell me.
Bill Clinton, (1998). Trump, (pre-2005-and beyond).

  14. udonnome says:

    Hillary’s in trouble!

  15. fiveo says:

Seems like the Obama Administration and the power brokers who really run things are desperate to shut Assange up. Secretary John Kerry has now directly threatened
Ecuador with dire consequences if they continue to shelter Assange. It has now been reported by Wiki Leaks that the emails deleted by Hillary Clinton was not 35,000 as previously
thought but actually 55,000. It has also been reported that Assange will accelerate the release of these emails which is probably why he was cut off on the internet.
As you may know, President Obama turned over the governance of the internet last weekto a so called global community still yet undefined. This means that access for certain
individuals could be denied. Kind of like the No Fly List. You are put on it and have no means to know why or how to get off and no reals means to appeal.
Welcome to the One World Order.

  16. bluebowl says:

    Something has got to burn.

  17. sailfish1 says:

If someone or some government can cut off internet access, why don’t they cut off ISIS’s internet access?

    • fiveo says:

They can now that the control over the internet has been handed over by Obama but that will not happen as ISIS, Al Queda, Al Nushra and the other affiliated Islamic fundamentalist
groups are sponsored by George Soros, the CIA and the other globalist groups. They want to use these islamic monsters to create mass chaos and death across the globe so that
they can come in and institute their New World Order. They do not care if millions die as it just makes the takeover easier and there will be fewer “useless eaters” to cull later on.
It is the classic ploy of the Hegelian dialect. Create the problem, then offer the solution.

      • Tanuki says:

You left out the part from your story about Obama conspiring with the Martians and Bigfoot to control the universe.

        • Cellodad says:

I just bought a few shares of Reynolds aluminum. (RAI) I figure with all of the people needing to re-line their ball caps with aluminum foil, the stock is destined to go way up again.

        • Cellodad says:

(BTW: is the “Hegelian dialect” anything like the Cajun dialect?)

  18. saywhatyouthink says:

Obama should look to cut Russian access to the internet instead of Assange’s. Putin may think twice about hacking if access to the internet for ordinary russians could be cut off completely.

  19. CEI says:

I don’t think the Clinton Crime Family (CCF) is in on this. Why waste the time? Even when something damaging to Waldo is released her loyal foot soldiers in the media explain it away or put it down the memory hole. And recently one of the CCF lieutenants who happens to be a Clinton News Network “journalist” warned viewers that it is illegal to view the Wikileaks e-mails that are harmful to Waldo. In a sane world he would not get away with this. But this is how a dictatorial one party government works and the their supporters are 100% okay with it.

  20. Tempmanoa says:

Who owns the media? Not liberals and democrats– big business and Republicans. Who owns all those conservative talk show programs and conservative publications that are pro Republican who now oppose Trump (National Review, Weekly Standard)? How about the conservative Republican news papers in Texas (Houston Standard) and Arizona (Arizona Republic) that have never until now endorsed a Democrat but are endorsing Clnton? Has the Republican party been infiltrated? It is no coincidence that TRump”s campaign leaders have strong ties to Russia, Putin, and Russian Oligarchs?
