Fire chars a half acre near Kaena Point
A brush fire burned about a half acre this afternoon near the entrance to Kaena Point park.
Honolulu Fire Capt. David Jenkins said five companies were dispatched at 1:46 p.m. and the first company arrived at 2 p.m.
The 12 firefighters brought the blaze on the makai side of Farrington Highway under control at 2:40 p.m.
There was no damage to any structures, Jenkins said.The cause had not yet been determined as of 3 p.m. today.
