Yes! Good to see Shawn back. A class act!
agree..Nice man. very professional. Low key guy.
How ironic, we were just talking about Shawn Ching at the UH football game on Sat.
A good guy worthy of this position! Welcome back Shawn!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Wow that’s great news.
I like him, but didn’t he graduate from Law School!
So you’re claiming that he’s been practicing law without a degree? Care to provide a source?
What about Keahi Tucker, did they just throw him under the bus for Ching?
Yeah, I think Tucker is doing a fine job as anchor.
I mean, I’d be glad to see him back, but geez, a law career is much more lucrative than that of newscasting.
He couldn’t make it in law?
You assume too much.
It all depends in what field of law, what firm, and what city you practice in.
Its more of a tuition moneymaker for the college, and textbook publishers.
I dissuaded all my children, and their cousins, who wanted to do so. Not a promising future.

Actually, it still is a very lucrative profession . . . for smart and talented people. Cream always rises to the top.
You have to do a job that you enjoy.
Probably he realized law wasn’t his bag. Not easy. Keahi can go back to the schedule he had prior to Tanaka’s leaving. He was just a temporary fill in. No one said he got the job. We’ll see how Ching holds up.
Great to see him back!
I guess private law practice was too rough for him.
Gotta have options, especially in Hawaii.
Welcome Back Shawn!……bet Stephanie Lum will be Elated to have her old colleague back. These two were perfectly matched! Two Peas in a Pod! I like Shawn’s Cool demeanor and proffesionalism ! Maybe Team up Keahi w/ Stephanie@6 OR? on the Morning’s w/ Grace and the Gang! Move Steve Uyehara to doing Sports. They need the help there! This is truly Steve’s Element….. Sports!
true..Shawn is a good combo of being sort of “local” with actually having an education and knowledge.
so being local and having an education/knowledge are mutually exclusive? go back to ND already.
just observing the facts on the ground hon.
What do you mean by ‘sort of local’ … Roosevelt H.S., UH and UH law school. Are you implying that other TV anchors don’t have an ‘education and/or knowledge? Maybe you’d finish your supposed ‘education’ faster if you spent less time commenting on this site.
right on bnc, the troll has been trolling this site for over 10 years by my count and still claims to be a uh student
no big deal…what is this his third comeback????? make up your mind already.
Shawn’s a solid guy…but local TV news again? Ok, brah, I get it…go for the low hanging fruit. EZ money.
