McDonald’s on Makala Boulevard.

Hawaii island police and the Hawaii Island Humane Society are investigating after a cat was killed Monday by a hunting arrow in Kailua Kona.

The Humane Society received a call about the injured cat in the McDonald’s parking lot on Makala Boulevard and found someone had shot the cat with a broadhead hunting arrow. The cat had to be euthanized because of the extent of the injuries and died a “horrific death,” the Humane Society said.

The incident happened about 11 p.m., and police were notified.

The male cat was most likely feral, the Humane Society said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Roxy O’Neal at the Humane Society at 329-1175 or Hawaii County police at 935-3311.

The Human Society said it was “disturbed by the increasing number of incidents in this area, including the poisoning and torture of cats at the Kona Commons Shopping Center.”

Awww man, why you gotta do that for? Tough guy shooting a little kitty with a bowhunter’s arrow. Wassup with that? Smh. Hope it haunts you forever.

“The cat died a “horrific death,” the Humane Society said on social media.” As I’m sure countless other native birds have suffered at the paws of thousands of feral cats. I would welcome a scorched-earth policy when it comes to these cats. NO cat is worth more than our own endangered native feathered friends.

Get real! Most Hawaii people have never even seen these “endangered native feathered friends”. Why are they really “endangered”? It is mostly due to humans building on their lands and eliminating their natural habitat and food source and the pollution caused by humans. Murdering a cat is a poor excuse for your own failings.

Wrong, I have and do frequently. These top 5 world invasive species must be dealt with. Since the so called humane society is doing nothing but wafting thousands of dolllars on one dog on a lost voyage, people are going to take care of bizness on their own. These little cats have to terminated. Its your choice on how.

Well the same thing can be said about humans who are the biggest danger to this planet right now.

Death by deliberate cruelty, whether to animals or human beings, are condemned by anyone with an ounce of decency!

    • Ronin006 says:

Try telling that to liberals who support the killing several hundred thousand unborn babies annually and call it women’s health.

      • krusha says:

Easy to condemn that unless you’re a woman yourself who has to make that choice. If men could give birth instead, then you’ll see a very different tune from the white guys in political office who try to make laws to control women.

        • Ronin006 says:

Krusha, wake up and smell the roses. Almost all of the hundreds of thousands of abortions performed annually in the USA have absolutely nothing to do with women’s health. Almost all are performed because or promiscuous sex, unprotected sex or other irresponsible behavior. Instead of effecting women’s health, the pregnancies interfere with life style or simply are inconvenient and are therefore aborted.

        • klastri says:

If men had babies, there would be an abortion clinic next to every Starbucks. The whole debate is about men (usually old white men) trying to control and subjugate women.

As far as I’m concerned, feral cats are just larger rats and actually cause more problems. I obviously would not condone someone shooting a pet cat, particularly one well-oriented toward people, and I would personally rather pull the trigger on a bad human than a good dog any day of the week, but feral cats are disgusting and damaging and we need more aggressive programs to either spay/neuter them or have them euthanized.

There was once a feral cat in my neighborhood that would enthusiastically taunt my black lab through the fence and claw her face when she got close enough. All I can say is that things didn’t end well for that kitty.

Do you write your comments from a mental hospital? Or a prison?

In case no one ever told you this before, you write in the manner of a sociopath. Just saying …
