Pahoa man faces attempted murder charge in Big Isle shooting
A 26-year-old Pahoa man turned himself in at a police station on the Big Island after he allegedly fired a gunshot into a man’s vehicle in Hilo.
Police arrested the suspect on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder Monday night. He remains in custody as police continue their investigation, according to a news release from the Hawaii County Police Department.
At approximately 12:25 p.m. Saturday, police said patrol officers responded to the 100 block of Makaala Street after a 27-year-old man reported that an unknown man brandished a revolver and fired a gunshot into the front window on the driver’s side of a vehicle.
A 26-year-old man was also in the vehicle at the time the gunshot was fired. No injuries were reported.
