Hawaii 5-0 after sweep of Grand Canyon
Sophomore opposite Stijn van Tilburg put down 17 kills and No. 6 Hawaii moved to 5-0 first the first time since 1996 with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-20 sweep of Grand Canyon in a nonconference volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Freshman hitter Austin Matautia added seven kills and two aces in playing the first two sets and sophomore libero Larry Tuileta had eight of the 21 digs for the Rainbow Warriors.
Junior hitter Shalev Saada led the Antelopes (1-3) with nine kills.
Hawaii opens its final season in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation at No. 3 Long Beach State (4-1, 1-1 MPSF) on Wednesday.
