BRUCE ASATO / BASATO@STARADVERTISER.COM

Hawaii’s Dylan Vchulek made it safely to second base in front of Nevada’s Keaton Smith in the first inning.

Neil Uskali spaced seven hits in seven innings and Josh Rojas drove in two runs to lift the University of Hawaii baseball team to a 3-2 victory over Nevada today at Les Murakami Stadium.

The Rainbow Warriors won three of four in this inter-conference season to improve to 18-9. They open Big West play against Cal Poly on Friday.

Uskali and Jackson Rees are competing for the third spot in the starting rotation. The Big West uses a three-game format for each series. Uskali (4-1) allowed two runs — only one earned — struck out a career-high seven and did not issue a walk.

Dylan Thomas pitched the final two innings for the save.
