LeSportsac’s newest collaboration brings characters from the Mr. Men and Little Miss books to life through colorful prints.

Gucci has unveiled “Gucci Garden,” an installation at its Ala Moana store depicting creative director Alessandro Michele’s vision of an imaginary universe of flora and fauna, to accompany the luxury brand’s collection of the same name.

Michele’s designs are set against a backdrop of pink walls, plush velvet, florals and giant creatures such as birds, bees, tigers, snakes and hydras. Products are embellished with the same motifs.

The Hawaii installation is the third to debut in North America, after Bal Harbour, Fla., and Costa Mesa, Calif., and will be on display through Aug. 24.

JOYFUL CHARACTERS INSPIRE NEW COLLECTION

LeSportsac’s newest collaboration brings characters from the Mr. Men and Little Miss books to life through colorful prints on everything from cosmetic pouches to lightweight purses, backpacks and weekender bags.

The characters, 86 in all, were created by Roger Hargreaves in London in 1971 and remain popular today. The collection includes a new character, Little Miss Voyager, created for LeSportsac. All styles also carry an exclusive Mr. Men zipper pull.

LeSportsac has boutiques at Ala Moana and Royal Hawaiian centers, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hyatt Regency and Waikiki Shopping Plaza.

SKIN CARE PRODUCT SALES BENEFIT CHARITY

Artist Jeff Koons has partnered with Kiehl’s to spread awareness of May as National Missing Children’s Month. Last year alone, 465,000 children were reported missing in the United States.

Kiehl’s stores, including the one at Ala Moana Center, are donating 100 percent of net profits from sales of Midnight Recovery Collection products — up to $100,000 — to benefit the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children.

Through May 31, those who purchase any of the three items in the collection will take home a limited-edition collectible tin designed by Koons. The products are Midnight Recovery Concentrate ($46 to $122), Botanical Cleansing Oil ($32) and Eye ($37).
