Two men were injured, one critically, in a head-on vehicle collision that closed Kahekili Highway in Kaneohe for nearly two hours this afternoon.

Paramedics were called at about 1 p.m. to Kahekili Highway and Hui Iwa Street, near the Valley of the Temples, where they treated two men, ages 59 and 49, and took them to a hospital. The older patient was in critical condition, while the other man was in serious condition, according to city Emergency Medical Services officials.

Honolulu police closed Kahekili Highway in both directions and reopened in before 3 p.m.
