Hilo raid nets drug charges for man, 51
A 51-year-old man has been charged with drug-related offenses after police conducted a drug raid at a Hilo apartment building.
Jack Larinaga was charged with promoting a dangerous drug in the first degree, three counts promoting a dangerous drug in the third degree, drug paraphernalia and promoting a detrimental drug in the third-degree.
His bail has been set at $80,525.
Detectives of the Hawaii Police Department’s Area I Vice Section executed a search warrant Thursday at the residential building on Banyan Drive following an investigation of distribution of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” in the area.
Officers discovered small amounts of cocaine and prescription drugs, nearly 40 grams of ice and close to 39 grams of marijuana. Police said the street value of the narcotics is estimated at over $7,500.
Police also seized drug paraphernalia and almost $2,400 in cash.

Officers arrested Larinaga at the scene. A 35-year-old woman who also was arrested at the apartment building was released pending investigation.
