Motorists should expect lane closures on the Moanalua Freeway Middle Street overpass area as Hawaiian Electric Company crews string overhead power lines starting 9 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday.

HECO said the following lane closures will be in effect:

>> Double-lane closures on Middle Street, requiring traffic contraflows in the remaining two lanes.

>> One lane closed on Kaua Street at the Middle Street intersection.

>> One lane closed on North King Street at the Middle Street intersection.

>> On the highways below the Middle Street overpass there also will be one lane closed on the westbound H-1 freeway airport exit, two lanes closed on the westbound Moanalua Freeway and one lane closed on the eastbound Moanalua Freeway.

On roadways with adjacent sidewalks, the sidewalks will also be closed.

The work on the Middle Street overpass will be brightly lit. HECO urges motorists to slow down and keep their eyes on the road.
