Wahine sweep Northridge with ease

Senior middle Emily Maglio put down 13 kills and Hawaii swept Cal State Northridge at the Stan Sheriff Center for the third straight season, winning tonight’s Big West volleyball match 25-19, 25-21, 25-12.

Senior libero Savanah Kahakai had 12 digs and junior hitter McKenna Granato 11 for the Rainbow Wahine (17-7, 11-2). Hawaii also had 10 aces and Maglio was in on five of the team’s seven blocks.

Junior hitter Aeryn Owens had 11 kills to lead the Matadors (10-14, 4-8), losers of seven straight. Senior libero Katie Sato added a match-high 15 digs.

Hawaii hosts Long Beach State (7-18, 4-8) on Saturday at 7 p.m., the final regular-season home match for the Wahine.
