Hawaii designer Yap hosts public runway show, party
Hawaii fashion designer Manaola Yap, acclaimed for his nature-inspired, ohe kapala patterns printed with hand-carved bamboo, will host a talk story, runway show and celebration from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ala Moana Center.
The event will begin at the mall’s Center Stage, where Yap will discuss his experiences at New York Fashion Week, where he made his debut this year, as well as design ideas, holiday traditions and more with Hawaii News Now reporter Mileka Lincoln. Questions from the audience will be accepted.
The talk will be followed by a runway show featuring Yap’s winter ready-to-wear collection for men, women and keiki. Afterward, all are invited to enjoy Hawaiian music, free drinks and in-store specials at Manaola at Hula Lehua, located on the makai side of Level 1.
