Nevada deals ‘Bows first loss

Junior forward Caleb Martin scored 22 points, including 17 in the first half, and Nevada handed Hawaii its first loss of the basketball season, defeating the Rainbow Warriors 67-54 tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Wolf Pack (6-0) got 16 points from Martin’s twin brother, Cody, and 16 from junior guard Jordan Caroline.

Hawaii (3-1) was led by junior guard Brocke Stepteau’s 10 on 5-for-5 shooting and nine points from sophomore guard Leland Green, The Rainbow Warriors were plagued by early foul trouble (senior forwards Mike Thomas and Gibson Johnson) as well as poor shooting, going 20-for-52 from the floor and 11-for-21 from the line.
