Flash flood watch in effect for Big Isle, Maui
A flash flood watch for Maui and the Big Island is in effect this morning and runs through Tuesday afternoon.
A high surf advisory for east-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai, Kauai, Maui and the Big Island was extended through 6 p.m. today.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that could lead to flooding.
Deep tropical moisture combined with decreased stability could result in heavy rainfall across the eastern third of the state.
Surf is expected to be between 10 and 15 feet along east-facing shores, dropping below 15 feet late today.
The public is urged to heed all warnings by Ocean Safety officials.
