UH extends Sinclair Library hours

The University of Hawaii at Manoa will extend hours at Sinclair Library to 24 hours on most days, starting next month, for the spring 2018 semester.

When hours were reduced earlier this year, students complained. So the UH-Manoa Library Services worked with undergraduate and graduate student organization leaders and Manoa administrators to provide an overnight study space on campus for Spring 2018, according to Monica Ghosh, interim university librarian.

In the short term, the group agreed that Sinclair Library was the best option for this purpose.

As of spring 2018, Sinclair Library will be open:

>> 24 hours Monday through Thursday

>> From midnight to 6 p.m. Friday

>> From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday

>> Noon to midnight Sunday

Use of the library overnight will be restricted to the Heritage Room and the Computerized Learning and Information Center (CLIC) Lab on the first floor between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
