Work furlough inmate fails to return to OCCC

Work furlough inmate Michael Zurcher, 52, is wanted by police and sheriffs after he failed to return to Oahu Community Correctional Center Monday night.

The state Department of Public Safety and Honolulu police are seeking the public’s help in locating a work furlough inmate who failed to return to the Oahu Community Correctional Center.

Michael Zurcher, 52, was reported missing after he failed to return to Module 20 by 8:30 p.m. Monday.

He is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, 220 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.

Zurcher is serving time for drugs, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, auto theft, criminal property damage, burglary and theft, according to the public safety department.

His parole hearing is scheduled for June.

Anyone with information on Zurcher’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Sheriff Division at 586-1352.
