Witnesses wanted in September slaying in Nuuanu

Police said Masashi Hirose was found 2 a.m. Sept. 30 across from the park at 2925 Pali Highway. He was taken to a hospital where he died. Police are asking for help in identifying a vehicle spotted in the area at the time of the incident.

Honolulu police and CrimeStoppers said today they are looking for witnesses to the September killing of a 40-year-old man who was found lying unconscious on the roadway across from Nuuanu Valley Park.

Police said Masashi Hirose was found 2 a.m. Sept. 30 across from the park at 2925 Pali Highway.

He was taken to a hospital where he died. Police are asking for help in identifying a vehicle seen in the area at the time of the incident. Police released a video showing a car that may be the suspect’s vehicle.

Hirose is described as of Japanese ethnicity, 5 feet 10 inches, 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
