Rainbows show power in stunning No. 13 LSU

Ethan Lopez, Maaki Yamazaki and Logan Pouelsen each hit solo home runs to lift Hawaii to a 4-2 baseball victory over 13th-ranked Louisiana State today at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge, La.

The ’Bows, who hit three home runs in the first 11 games, smacked three in the first seven innings today. Pouelsen’s first homer of the season broke a 2-all tie in the sixth inning.

The ’Bows added an insurance run on Kekai Rios’ RBI single to left. Rios had missed the previous six games because of a hamstring ailment.

Dylan Thomas, who quelled a one-on, one-out situation in the eighth, escaped another jam in the ninth for his fifth save.
