Water main break closes makai-bound lane of 10th Avenue in Palolo

Crews of the Board of Water Supply have responded to a water main break in Kaimuki early today.

The rupture to a 12-inch water main on 10th Avenue between Waialae Avenue and Keanu Street was reported sometime after 5 a.m., according to spokeswoman Kathleen Pahinui.

About 25 homes are affected by the break. Pahinui said a water wagon is in the area for affected customers.

The makai-bound lane exiting Palolo Valley on 10th Avenue is being diverted to Keanu Street as crews conduct repairs.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.

The mauka-bound lane on 10th Avenue remains open.
