Waipahu schools briefly put on lockdown during police investigation

Waipahu Elementary and Waipahu Intermediate schools initiated a lockdown today after a woman in the neighborhood reported she was allegedly chased by an armed male.

As a safety precaution, the schools went into lockdown from 11 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.

A police spokeswoman said officers searched the area and did not locate the suspect or weapon.
