Lanikai parking ban in place during holiday weekend

No parking is allowed on all Lanikai streets and shoulders from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Monday.

Special parking restrictions remain in effect for Lanikai over the three-day holiday weekend.

No parking is allowed on all Lanikai streets and shoulders from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Monday.

The Department of Transportation has placed temporary “sawhorse” signs on streets in Lanikai and “no left turn” signs at the triangle intersection where South Kalaheo Avenue meets Kailua Road near Kalapawai Market.

An electronic messaging board is also being used to convey parking restriction information at the entrance of Lanikai on Mokulua Drive, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., through Monday.

DOT is advising those wishing to access Lanikai beach and/or the Lanikai Pillboxes Trail to walk, bike, take TheBus Route 70 Lanikai, or get dropped off.
