An owner of Alicia’s Market in Kalihi used an extinguisher and then a garden hose this morning to help firefighters contain a two-alarm fire to the kitchen, Honolulu fire officials said.
The fire was brought under control at 6:02 a.m. and was extinguished at 6:08 a.m.
Residences on the second floor of the building at 267 Mokauea St. were evacuated and no one was injured, HFD said.
